Introduction

Talisman Wallet is a third-party wallet solution for the Polkadot ecosystem that includes support for POLYX on Polymesh.

Polymesh users can use Talisman Wallet to store and manage their POLYX tokens as well as take advantage of Talisman Wallet’s user-friendly access to Substrate features, such as token transfers and staking.

This guide will walk you through the process of setting up Talisman to use Polymesh.

Create a new Polymesh account in Talisman

Download the Talisman wallet from here.
Follow the onscreen instructions or this guide to create an account in Talisman Wallet.
When creating a new account, select Polkadot then click on Create.
Note that you can also add an account from within the wallet by navigating to Settings and selecting the Add Account button.
You can then connect Talisman wallet to the Polymesh Portal and use its features after you are onboarded to Polymesh.

Import Ledger account via Talisman

Current limitations

Sending POLYX via Talisman (or any other features with the balances pallet) doesn't work currently. This feature will be added later on.
Polymesh doesn't support other apps like Polkadot generic app and only supports the Polymesh legacy app via Ledger.

Import Ledger account to Talisman

Download the Talisman wallet from here.
Follow the onscreen instructions or this guide to create an account in Talisman Wallet.
Click on Add account then Connect Ledger.
Note that you can also add an account from within the wallet by navigating to Settings and selecting the “Add Account” button.
Select Polkadot then find Polymesh under Networks, and click on the Polymesh App.
You will see a popup window on your browser that will allow you to connect your Ledger. Click on Connect.
The next screen will display the accounts available on your Ledger device. Select the Polymesh account by checking the checkbox, then click Continue.
Then you can connect to the Polymesh Portal and execute transactions on the network. You must be onboarded to Polymesh before using it.
Before executing any transaction on Polymesh, make sure that you are using the correct account by opening the Talisman wallet.
You can also check the connected account in Talisman Wallet before signing any transaction on Polymesh.
